Commonly Asked LipoSelection Questions
Southern California Plastic Surgery Group
- Is LipoSelectionsm is right for me?
LipoSelectionsm is ideal for removing small, specific areas of fat rather than the larger areas normally addressed by liposuction. It is a precise body sculpting procedure, not a weight loss tool. Each situation is unique. Dr. Hicks can help you decide if liposuction is the right procedure for you.
- Is LipoSelectionsm safe?
Yes. LipoSelection is actually safer than most liposuction procedures. Very specific areas of fat are addressed and Vaser technology emulsifies the fat so that the surrounding tissue is not affected.
- Can I have LipoSelectionsm combined with another procedure?
Yes. You can have LipoSelectionsm as a part of other procedures such as a facelift or breast reduction.
- Will LipoSelectionsm remove cellulite?
No. LipoSelectionsm will remove fat, but cannot significantly address the dimpled look of cellulite.
- Does LipoSelectionsm leave scars?
Scars from LipoSelectionsm are very small and hard to detect. Dr. Hicks will make every effort to make these scars as inconspicuous as possible.
- Are the results permanent?
Yes. The fat cells removed with LipoSelectionsm will not grow back. LipoSelectionsm will not prevent you from gaining weight, but weight gained will be distributed throughout your body, and you should retain your new contours.
- Why is LipoSelectionsm different?
The fat is liquefied before it is removed, allowing for very precise results and minimizing bruising, swelling, and pain.
- Is LipoSelectionsm painful?
Because LipoSelectionsm targets specific areas and only targets fat, leaving the surrounding tissue intact, pain compared to other liposuction procedures, is minimized. You may be sore for a few days. Dr. Hicks will prescribe pain medication to minimize any discomfort.
